pyhelios.PlantHydraulics.HydraulicCapacitance Class Reference

Hydraulic capacitance of a leaf, stem or root, from pressure-volume curve parameters. More...

Detailed Description

Hydraulic capacitance of a leaf, stem or root, from pressure-volume curve parameters.

A fixed_constant_capacitance greater than zero gives a constant capacitance. Use HydraulicCapacitance.constant() to build one; its pressure-volume curve parameters are the defaults.

For a leaf, the model always computes relative water content, turgor pressure and osmotic potential from the pressure-volume curve parameters, so a constant leaf capacitance means those outputs come from the default curve. For a stem or root, capacitance is used only by non-steady-state runs, which require a constant; their pressure-volume curve parameters are never used.
